    Ashley Saltzman, LCPC, NCC, Board Approved Supervisor is a mental health therapist who brings 10+ years of mental health experience to By Your Side Counseling Services, LLC. Ashley received her master’s degree in the counseling track of applied psychology from the University of Baltimore in 2013 and has experience working at an outpatient substance use center and at an outpatient mental health center. Ashley enjoys working with children, teens, adults, and families, and has a passion for helping clients process and heal from trauma and other stressors. Ashley is a registered Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) provider for the treatment of PTSD and can provide help to individuals with exposure to trauma to tackle the lasting symptoms. Ashley also utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy techniques, strength-based approaches, supportive counseling techniques, and is trained in Emotionally Focused Couples therapy (EFT). She is also a Maryland BOPCT approved supervisor for LGPCs, a member of the Psi Chi Honor Society, and a member of the American Counseling Association. In her free time, Ashley enjoys crafting, attending sporting events, and listening to true crime podcasts.

    April Widdes, LCPC, Board Approved Supervisor is a mental health therapist bringing over 7 years of experience to By Your Side Counseling Services, LLC. April has a passion for helping clients achieve their goals through building self-esteem, self-worth, and finding passions in life. A major key component in April’s therapeutic relationships is that both April and her clients are people first, here to work together and form a therapeutic relationship. April takes pride in being a down-to-earth, patient, and compassionate human and therapist. April utilizes a range of techniques varying from cognitive behavioral therapy, strength-based approaches, supportive counseling, and solution focused techniques. April has training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples (EFT), and anxiety treatment through obtaining her Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP) training. Additionally, April has a background in trauma- informed training approaches, and experience working with a range of diagnoses and client concerns. April received her master’s degree in, “Counselor Education for Community Mental Health,” from McDaniel College in 2017. April’s experience in the mental health field varies from working in psychiatric rehabilitation programs, inpatient substance abuse centers, and community outpatient mental health counseling. April is also a Maryland BOPCT approved supervisor for LGPCs. In her free time, April enjoys spending time with her husband, bonus daughter, dogs, family, and friends. She is also an avid plant lover/owner!

    Brittany Spoor, LGPC, NCC, comes with 6 years of experience in the mental health field. Britt is passionate about helping her clients grow, thrive, and reach their fullest potential. Britt believes in a strong foundation between therapist and client, to help clients feel safe and comfortable in their sessions with her. Britt enjoys her work with clients who want to improve relationships with themselves and others, and thrives on helping her clients set boundaries, advocate for themselves, and improve self-confidence. Britt received her master’s degree in Counseling with a speciality in Clinical Mental Health from Hood College in May of 2022. Throughout her schooling, she worked with children, adolescents, teens, and families at a psychiatric rehabilitation program. Additionally, Britt has experience working with a variety of age groups, ethnicities, cultures, and backgrounds, during her time at the Mental Health Association as an intern level counselor, and now as a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor while she continues to work in an outpatient agency. In her free time, Britt enjoys going to the gym, being a dog-mom to her two energetic pitties, and spending time with friends, family, and her fiancé.

    Brianna (Bree) Gobell

    Bree is a current senior at Hood College and will be graduating this May 2024! Bree is earning her bachelor’s degree in Psychology, with a minor in Biology. Following graduation, Bree has plans to enroll in graduate school to earn her master’s degree in "Counseling with a Specialty in Clinical Mental Health," to work toward becoming a licensed therapist. In the future, Bree would love to focus her training and experience on becoming an adolescent focused therapist, and/or sports therapy. Bree has played soccer at Hood for 3 and a half years and is passionate about staying active. She has completed one half marathon and hopes to run many more! In her free time between balancing college classes, school work, interning, soccer practice/games/training, Bree enjoys spending her free time at the gym and getting coffee. You may see Bree around our office while she is spending time learning more about the world of therapy and behind the scenes of By Your Side Counseling Services, LLC. We are so excited to have her as part of our team and be a part of her education journey!
